It's pretzel time again.
Tadd & I have had a tradition for the past 3 or 4 years wherein we stay up late one night and make literally hundreds of chocolate dipped pretzel rods. It's quite the process really, it takes loads of chocolate, caramel, pretzels, cookie trays and time. Every year we say "we are not doing this next year" but at the beginning of December I'll go ahead and order the caramel and shop around for sprinkles and new decorating ideas.... 2 years back we had a "snowflake" theme. Here is a bag of the finished product. We probably made 40 bags of pretzels, about 5 or 6 in each bag.
We used white chocolate, dark chocolate, and milk chocolate. I also used the edible glitter on the white chocolate pretzels, they looked like snow- it really tuned out cute. Harrison helped out a bit before going to bed. Well..... maybe helped is the wrong term.

hope I didn't offend.
Those look so yummy!
Wow! Those are gorgeous! I wish I knew how to make them. If you were up to it, we could get together and make more at my house. Just tell me what to get....
Those are awesome!! You guys did a great job!! My mouth is watering just thinking about them again!! Chocolate it's a weekness of mine ;)
Those look absolutley delish! Now I have yet another reason to wish you lived closer to me:)
They are beautiful and delicious. I remember years ago when you were little we would put everyone to bed and dad and I would stay up late and make homemade pecan rolls. Dad and I had so much fun on our 'candy making date'. Have fun!
lovely as usual sis...everything you do always looks so classy!
I do those pretzels from time to time. They look SO lovely in a little bag. Very nice.
Yummy! I love holiday goodies. Those look so great.
Feel free to send me a bag of those anytime!!!:)
I found your blog through Best Bites and I really like the way your pretzels turned out. They look "perfect." So, I have a question... how did you get them to be rounded, and not flat on the bottom? Any secret tricks?
If you wouldn't mind sharing your secret(s) would you email me at meggieloulou at gmail dot com? I would REALLY appreciate it!
Hi I found your blog through best bites...i tried doing the pretzel rods myself. i must have done something wrong because I dipped the rod in caramel and thought i needed to let it harden (i placed it on wax paper). i could not pull the rods off the paper! my friend and i got a good laugh out of it but how can i make them better? I did dip them in chocolate and they are very yummy. What did I do wrong? I'm sure alot..I know you don't know me but i would sure appreciate any suggestions. thanks.
