Washoku Warriors February Challenge

So the challenge this month snuck up on me (OK, so that's nothing new) I was in a bit of a panic though because we were in the middle of a raging winter storm. How was I going to get to the Japanese market in the middle of a blizzard? I was thinking I would have to sit this one out when I flipped to page 264 and found that I had every single ingredient I needed! BONUS!! I was so happy to make these fun soy glazed beef burgers. When Tadd walked in the door and saw my Washoku cookbook open on the counter, he said "YES!! I LOVE WASHOKU WARRIOR NIGHT!!" The recipe for teriyaki baaga is very similar to a meatball/meatloaf recipe. The fun part is at the end when the burgers are done, you pour a delicious teriyaki sauce in the pan and flip the burgers to coat them with the sauce.

The burgers are served with a vegetable and steamed rice on the side. The only change we would have made is to make some extra teriyaki sauce for the rice. Other than that? They were delicious and so, so easy. Definitely going on the meal rotation here!

Here's my attempt to get a picture of the finished plate of food. Henry wouldn't wait!!

Yummy-looking bugers.
Some of my co-workers,who have kids, might be jealous that there are 4(?)-year olds who dig into a pile of broccoli on their own accord. :)
