Just hanging around

Well hello there? Where have I been? Just hanging around with my kids. sometimes literally.

Our sweet (possibly overbearing?) elderly neighbor likes to scold my kids when they're climbing the tree in our front yard. "You'll fall and hurt yourself!" "You need to come down right now!"

They do eventually come down (and hardly ever fall). And to tell you the truth, I'm just glad he's actually got clothes on. He could be climbing the tree in his underpants, right? And look... SHOES too!! I deserve mother of the year.

I get that with my kids' tree-climbing too:

"Do you know your son is up in that tree???"

"Mmm-hmm."

"But he's really high!"

"Mmm-hmm."

"But he could get hurt!"

"Mmm-hmmm."

"Well, aren't you going to do something??"

"Nope."

"WHY????"

"Because they like to climb trees. I believe you learn to climb trees....by climbing trees. And I know how to get to the nearest hospital."

Ha. :D

I thought that was Harrison, upon closer examination I realized it was Henry! He just grew up. In just 2 weeks we will be there. We can't wait!!

The tree is the best playground... I loved trees when I was a little girl even had a great branch where I could "hang" by my knees....
Love it....

Too funny! Yesterday a 5 year-old boy told his teacher that my 5 year-old, had said a bad word. He had said, "What the hey!" The teachers told him they would prefer "What in the world." When my husband & I were told this we just looked at each other & smiled. Next time we may correct our son...but we really are fascinated by some comments we get:)
