Guardian Angel

Based on the title of this post, I'm sure most of you are thinking "what did Harrison do now!" This time, my friends, it was all Maya... Harrison wasn't even in the vicinity (lucky for him, or I never would have believed Maya could pull this off). Some of you may remember this gorgeous piece of furniture I bought when I was pregnant with Maya. I had to have THE best of everything for her, no expense was spared! I think her bedroom furniture cost more than my first car. Obviously times have changed (hello craigslist!) The good thing about getting nice furniture is it has lasted through 3 kids.

Until yesterday...

Maya was having her quiet time and I was sorting through some piles in the office when I hear a ginormous BOOM! I sprinted up the stairs to find her door locked, I knocked on her door and she said in a sweet voice "who is it?" so I knew she wasn't hurt. I popped the lock on her door and my eyes fell upon her armoire, splayed across the ground, face down.  I may have shouted a few choice words (that she likely won't hear again until she's a rotten teenager) all the while trying to heave this solid piece of furniture off the ground and back upright. I really was upset until I realized how hurt she could have been, then I was upset but more relieved! She later told me she was climbing up the face of the armoire trying to reach her ballerina on top when it fell. The doors of the armoire were open when she was climbing and when it fell, it landed on the open doors, so she was unharmed, saving her from a broken neck or back (this thing is REALLY heavy). Of course now one of the doors won't close because the hinges are bent. No matter, we can order new hinges (here's to hoping). I'm sure Maya used up one of her lives on that one. Ugh, no wonder I have more grey hairs every day.

I am starting to think that "Quiet/naptime" at your house is just not safe! :)

I am glad she is OK.

Oh and honestly, with the title, my thoughts did immediately wonder to Harrison! :)
