Trapped!

A few days ago I started noticing fruit flies in my kitchen, I have a lot of fruit sitting on the counter waiting to be consumed, so I brushed it off and decided the little flies would be gone as soon as the fruit was. I was wrong.... every day I was noticing more and more. Where were they coming from? How can I get rid of them? I got online and found an easy solution....

A glass jar, a rolled up piece of paper and an old banana! Genius! I've trapped dozens of these little guys. Turns out they can fly in the jar, but aren't smart enough to find their way out. When I have enough trapped, I take the jar outside and let them go, and return it to the house to trap more. I just rolled the paper up like a funnel, put a piece of tape on to hold it and set it in the jar filled with really ripe fruit. Anyone else have good household tips they want to share?

Wow that is really cool. I love that. I really admire all the great things you do and are learning. Thanks for being such a great example. I love you, Amber.

That is a great idea.

We had the plague of flies last summer...and someone told us to take a ketchup bottle and put some raw ground beef in it...put the lid on it..put leave the top popped. The flies go in and eat and then are too full to fly out.

Stinky, let me tell you.

Your idea smells alot better...I'm sure.

I usually just spend 3 or 4 hours trying to catch dragon flies outside and then let them go in my house.

Let me know if you find a cool way to recycle pistachio shells.

That's brilliant. And so simple. Sometimes I think we just think too hard.
