Whole wheat sugar cookies?

Now some may be of the opinion that if you're going to eat a cookie, then for crying out loud, just eat a white flour, sugar laden cookie and enjoy every bite. I can see the appeal of that thought, but I also tend to think if I can encourage my kids to eat healthy, I'm absolutely going to.... (OK, so 2 sticks of butter isn't exactly healthy). One of my favorite places to get recipes is ourbestbites.com I love that blog! I found the sugar cookie recipe here and just added fresh ground pastry wheat in place of the white flour. They were pretty good! Even better when I added cream cheese frosting to the second half of the cookies I baked today.

Can you guess who my helper was? That's right Harrison put the cookies on the tray for me. He also brushed milk on the top and sprinkled the coarse sugar. What a little helper! How would I get any baking done without him?

And with our leftover scraps of dough? Snakes of course! Harrison was quite annoyed that I wanted to take a picture of him putting the cookies in the oven. Don't you love the oven mits and spiderman bathrobe? It's quite the outfit, no?

I wish I could sport a spiderman robe like that...what a handsome kiddo!

Those cookies look super tasty, I imagine the cream cheese frosting did help just a bit :)

You are so lucky to have a great helper like Harrison. He needs to spend some time in Nana's Kitchen! Miss you!
