Maya is so happy to finally have a sister. Before we knew Amelia was going to be a girl, she would look at my pregnant stomach and whisper that she could not handle another brother. The day I had my ultrasound and found out we were expecting another daughter, I made a special trip to Maya's school and brought her a bouquet of pink suckers and a note saying "you're going to have a baby sister!" The office delivered the note, I'm only sad that I didn't get to see her face when she found out. Ever since that day, Maya and Amelia have had a special bond. It makes me think of my baby sister Jill (who is a grown woman with children of her own now!) I can remember being about 6 or 7 years old and crying to my mom about how much I wanted a baby sister, and how happy I was when my gorgeous little sister was born. I can only hope these two have the same wonderful relationship as I do with my sweet baby sister!

Such darling girls. I can't help but think that they already have that special relationship. I love Amelia's bright blue eyes. Can't wait to see you soon.
So sweet...I'm sure they will be great friends, and that Amelia will look up to her big sister just like I look up to mine :)
Love you sis!
Love the photos, two darling granddaughters.
I always wanted a sister. I remember the day Mom had Craig. I cried, not another brother I told my Mom. She replied, "but he is such a cute baby".
'Yes' I said, 'but I know that he will grow up to be a boy'.
He did but I loved him anyway.
But the story has a happy ending as I have 3 beautiful daughters!
Aren't they the cutest sisters !!
I'm not sure my sister felt that way...But were still going to the movies together 73 years later.
I love this post. And I love the name Amelia. Her eyes are SO blue! She's a beauty.
