Victory at last!

After the disappointing catch we had on Saturday, the kids were determined to try their hand at fishing again tonight. They are lucky to have a kind and patient dad who will oblige their request (I think he might just enjoy it too). Off we went to the pond by our house, we have had such hot weather that the algae was quite thick, but we managed to clear a spot to drop our lines.

First we bait the hooks....

Before you know it, our first fish... then another and another and another (for Harrison). Maya was feeling left out.

Much to Harrison's chagrin the fish were let go in the pond right after they were hooked. He wanted to keep them in a bucket to "show his friends, or they might not believe him" I told him I took plenty of pictures....

Finally it was Maya's turn to catch one!! She was so pleased with herself...

Hmmm, it looks pretty ugly, doesn't it Maya? Henry was caught mid throw....

It was a big one!

Sweet victory! Now if they would only stay this easy to please forever...... Have I mentioned how much I love these 3 kids? And that husband back there baiting that hook? Well in case anyone doubts, I feel like the luckiest woman alive. Life is good....
