It doesn't take much....

Maya has been walking around the house for the past week with a quarter palmed in her sweaty little hand. She's always asking me "what can I buy with this money?" I'm always telling her she can buy a gumball and that's about it, but if she saves up lots of quarters she can buy something a bit more impressive. She's just learning the concept of money, she's been raised thinking money is plastic (don't go and get your panties in a wad, I pay my credit card off every month people!). I've been trying to teach her about real money lately, so it was timely that this nice birthday card came in the mail (thanks Great Grandma Scott!) today. She was so thrilled to have five whole dollars! Actually, she's thrilled to get any mail (even the kind without money) and will carry the card around long after the money's been spent. Thanks Great Grandma!

Cold hard cash. It's a powerful thing... so now, is she a saver or a spender?

Happy Birthday Maya! You ought to quiz her and see if she remembers the lesson Adam taught them on tithing last month. I believe he used pennies to demonstrate. We hope she has a fun birthday and many more years of adventure!

SO, I finally found and subscribed to your blog. I tried to find it before, but kept finding some lame private site. Just so you know, I'll be looking in on you . . .

My Jefferson loves getting money. Every birthday cared is opened with the statement everything thinks but doesn't ask: "I hope there's money in it."
