Until this morning.
Yeeow it was cold. We woke up to the thermostat blinking 56 degrees. Don't believe me?

Grandmas, don't you worry, the kids slept just fine, and woke up to hot showers and steaming bowls of oatmeal. It was a nice teaching opportunity, I was able to tell them how we should be conserving energy and reducing our carbon footprint and all that other stuff. The only grumbling that was heard came from Tadd. I did realize that we are able to keep the temperature a lot lower in the house and still be comfortable. Let's hear it for the woolly socks and layered jammies!! I think we'll reduce our temperature by several degrees this winter. I'm crossing my fingers that it will make a difference in our heat bill (curse you two story foyer!). Do you think you can too??

wow. that is hardcore.
We did the same thing! It was awesome.
Until the in-laws showed up. Then I caved at 61.
Bummer. But the second they're gone, that baby is off!
Good for you!
we are holding steady at 65 during the day and 62 at night, but woke up the other morning to a balmy 56 LOL
I have ours set at 68 and Dave is still complaining that it is too cold. I don't think we would be able to let it get to 56... but my Mom would...
Nana Cindy here---turn the heat up!!! My house is a comfortable 72 in the winter, 74 in the summer. In October I turned the heat on in the AM the AC in the afternoon. That is what that little switch is for! I tell myself I can do this because I live in a smallish house. I have been in homes where their 'master bath' is bigger than my house. Justified.
Watch out for frozen pipes!!
It's 69 at my house (Down from 72) and I wear sweats and sweaters...... I'm just grateful for my new down comforter.
Of course you have a warm body to sleep with...Handsome too !!
I love it Amber. We almost made it without heat for Oct too, but we caved- probably the night you got to 56.
