Move over Tadd

Tadd is the smoothie maker at our house, he started the tradition 6 years ago when I was pregnant with Maya. Every morning of my pregnancy, he would make me a smoothie, most days it would be gone by the time I got to work. He got it down to a perfect science, and I can honestly say I have never needed to make one, he always just happily oblige. Since Harrison has been old enough to climb on the kitchen counter, he has been Tadd's official smoothie sous chef. So yesterday when Harrison decided he wanted a smoothie at 2 in the afternoon, and I had told him he had to wait until Daddy got home because I didn't know how to make one he replied.

"Mom, don't worry, I'll teach you. Just watch me. OK?"

He proceeded to get out the blender pieces, assemble them and plug it in. He also got everything out of the fridge/freezer. Milk, yogurt, banana, frozen strawberries and orange juice concentrate. The following are actual quotes. I can't make this stuff up.....

"First, you put in the yogurt. 3 scoops, just like this, see?"

"Now put the orange juice in." He then ate a big spoonful of the frozen OJ

"Then you cut the end off the banana. I WANT TO DO IT MYSELF. I won't cut my finger. I promise, just get me a butter knife OK?"

Then he tried to lift the gallon of milk up and pour it directly in the blender, but realized that might prove catastrophic. Even super Harrison knows his limitations. He poured the milk in a measuring cup instead. Good call kid.

"Now you put the strawberries in, but make sure the motor is running while you do it."

"Now the berries are all in, turn it to turbo!"

"MOM! Are you paying attention! This is important! You have to keep the lid on." (I guess I was looking at shots on my camera instead of looking at the smoothie master.

"See mom? That was easy."

He never ceases to amaze me, the kid will be able to move out and get an apartment by the time he's 5. But then, I would miss him......
