St. Patrick's Day Fun....

When I was small, my mom made a big deal out of all the holidays, I looked forward to each one, no matter how small because I knew something fun would be in store. I've tried to carry on the tradition for my kids, I don't know who has more fun, them or me! I subscribe to a cute little blog called Sherbet Blossom that often has good ideas and when I saw her post on a St. Patrick's Day gold hunt, I knew what my activity was going to be!

She had a free printable PDF for some the gold hunt rainbow clues. Since I don't have a color printer at home, I had to color 8 rainbows at 11 last night. I thought up clues that my 4 and 6 year old could figure out such as...

Off to work daddy must fly, but not before he puts on his ....

They were so excited to wake up and find a clue on their bedroom door.

After 8 fun clues, they finally found this...

Unfortunately Maya was expecting "real money" in a "black pot" and thought the gold wrapped chocolate was a bit of a let down, but the fun of finding the clues made the game worth it for her. The rest of the day all Harrison wanted to do was find clues.

Oh, and I picked up a green shirt for Maya while I was out getting gold candy, which ended up being the perfect basket liner. She was the cutest leprechaun in kindergarten, I'm sure!

Now... on to April Fool's day!!

Boy I'm a slacker now. I didn't even wear green! I remember making a big batch of bright green bread. I shared it with the neighbors. You get funny looks when you give someone a green loaf of bread.
