Why we don't throw away cardboard boxes....

We recently bought some furniture at IKEA, I'm sure we all know that furniture from IKEA comes "assembly required", thus we had several large flat cardboard boxes on our hands. What to do with these flat cardboard boxes? Tadd was hauling them to the recycle bin when I stopped him, "Wait! That's our rocket ship!" What happens next takes up an entire 2 hours.....(that would otherwise be spent moaning and writhing and complaining of boredom) Afterall, the morning was ONLY spent at preschool and the afternoon was spent at a play/lunch date.

Our rocketship has doors and windows.

This is the look I get before I get the scowl, she didn't want to be bothered by a silly camera.

What would a rocketship be without Disney Princess stickers? Boring, that's what.

It took them a full 30 minutes to decorate the thing.... People, 30 minutes of quiet creativeness is like mommy gold!!!

This face says it all, doesn't it?

The best memories EVER! but now, let's see how long it takes before you can remove it from the permanant decor of your home... course, hours of quiet play, then maybe it's worth the change in decor.

When I was young--back in the dark ages Grandpa Lindstrom would bring home big boxes that furnaces or water heaters came in. We were in heaven!! If it was summer we would turn them into 'tanks' and spend hours rolling all over the yard! Yes, boxes make the best toys! Can we give them for Christmas???
