Anyone else despise afternoon church services? I much prefer morning church... My kids are up at the crack of dawn anyway, so I don't count sleeping in as a bonus for having afternoon church. I DO count lazy Sunday mornings as a benefit though. Last week happened to be a week that Tadd didn't have to go early for his meetings. I suggested to the kids and Tadd that building a block tower in the other room sounded like a great idea while I was putting Henry to sleep. I told Maya and Harrison about how Uncle Paul would build block towers to the ceiling every Sunday when we were kids. I'm not sure why he didn't end up in engineering as a profession, he would build the most massive, intricate block towers. He was so serious about it too, he concentrated and took hours constructing the perfect tower. Maya and Harrison (and Tadd) then set to work using every wooden block we own to try and replicate an "uncle Paul" block tower. And yes, Harrison is wearing his underwear backwards. He always does this. Every. Single. Day. He says he "wants to see the picture" on the front, which is fine, but it sort of makes him look like he's wearing some thong-ish bikini briefs in the rear... oh well, at least nobody sees his underpa.... wait, I guess everyone sees his underpants. I guess i'll go shopping for some "boxer-briefs" for him... what were we talking about again? Oh yes, block towers...
Tadd is having a grand time....
The finished product... Paul, don't laugh, we can never compete with you...
Did anyone else see this coming??

I love the backwards underpants. I was babysitting my nephew this summer, and after they splashed in the pool and decided it was time to get dressed, we engaged in an hour long argument about which way the underpants actually go. See, I'm not super familiar with boy things, but I was pretty certain the picture went in the back. He was adamant, however, that the picture went in the front, which then left his white chubby butt cheeks hanging out either side of the material! So me being the good babysitter that I am, I let him wear them backwards. Just not worth the fight. And it was pretty dang funny seeing those butt cheeks flap in the wind.
Scott and I are laughing out loud right now about the underwear...hilarious!
that block tower is definitely a good start, I bet that will become a tradition in the linderman house now. My memories of block towers aren't that great because I think Scott and Paul were always trying to get me out of the way. Mean brothers, I was so picked on!
Backwards underpants are all the rage with the 3-4 year olds, your not cool unless you've got backwards underpants! Nice block tower by the way.
