Tadd was at a work meeting late last night, so I told the kids we could make some popcorn and watch the olympics on TV to pass the evening hours. Maya piped up....
"Oh Mom! Let's see if Michael Phelps is on TV."
"Who is Michael Phelps?" I asked, prodding her.
"Duh mom... He's a swimmer. You know, for the Olympics." She rolled her eyes.
"Oh?" I said
"Yeah Mom, he has like, tons of gold medals and stuff. He's on team USA." She sighs and shakes her head like a 15 year old, then gives me a look of pity.
Apparently, I'm SO out of it....
Like DUH mom.
(for the record, I TOTALLY know who Michael Phelps is...)

ha, i guess you don't call her sassy for nothing!! In her defense sis, I know who michael phelps is and I don't even watch the olympics...duh!

I wish the Olympic hype would blow over. I have no idea what is going on and I feel like an idiot when people talk to me about it. Maya would have made me feel dumb.
