Let's go ride a bike

So we've been shopping for a bike for Harrison as a combination birthday present and potty training completion reward. We were planning on getting a bike for him from the Schwinn shop, but we got some serious sticker shock when we went in. $150 a bike, and we were going to get Maya one too. Yikes! I wanted to get the little bikes because neither one had ridden a bike before, which means they will probably get 1-2 summers out of the bikes before it was time to move up. So instead of blowing my budget on some bikes that will be replaced sooner than later, I checked my local craigslist. That very afternoon a woman listed 2 BARELY used Schwinn bikes, one boy and one girl bike, for $20 each! Score! We picked them up last night and she even threw in a helmet for Harrison. We found that bikes = happy kids, and even better, used bikes = happy mom. Gotta love craigslist!!

Harrison likes to go "superfast"

First bike injury.... I'm sure there are plenty to come.

I LOVE IT! Ava won't ride hers (a hand me down) which is fine with me because I can't find a helmet to fit over her puffs!

Oh how I LOVE a good deal!

Now, as they get more and more comfortable on them, just bend the training wheels up a little bit. That way they are there to catch them, if they need, but for the most part they don't use them because leaning sideways feels awkward and unstable!

OK, wait! I can't believe Harrison can pedal! Oh my, we SO have to work on Mallory! We start potty training next week. WISH ME LUCK!
