I spent a good week suggesting different kinds of party and cake themes to Harrison for his 3rd birthday. I always knew he would choose a monster truck theme, but I tried for a good week to sway him toward something more.... appropriate. I suggested a car theme, a train theme, a superman theme, a construction truck theme etc. No persuading or bribing him could change his mind. So? Monster trucks won. We won't worry unless he starts asking me to let him grow a mudflap. Oh, and the cake? DELICIOUS. It was 2 layers of german chocolate cake with homemade german chocolate frosting in the middle and on the top. The sides were frosted with homemade cream cheese frosting. Mighty tasty....

What a perfect cake for a 3 year old boy--actually I think Uncle Max would like one as well. He did spend the 24th at a Demolition Derby!!
that is one amazing cake! Did you make it?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARRISON! We were so sad to miss the party. I thought about you and all the madness yesterday! I bet it was so fun. My kids were sad not to make it. I felt guilty all day for being sick, so I made homemade pizza for the kids for dinner last night.
geez sis, you realy outdid your self with that thing...it looks amazing! who'd of thought you could take something as dirty and man-ly as monster trucks and turn it onto a delicious work of art!!
Monster trucks for a monster kid, that's the way I see it. Just kidding, Harrison is great. Anytime he wants to ride on the "digger" I'd love to take him.
